| singing teacher | accompanist | composer
Gareth Williams is a highly experienced singing teacher, accompanist,
and composer, based in the centre of Norwich and available worldwide via
Zoom. He holds both Honours and Masters degrees in Music and is a Fellow
of the Independent Society of Musicians (FISM) and a member of the British
Voice Association (BVA).
He began his musical journey studying piano with Alan Granville, later
developing a passion for singing that led to a flourishing vocal career across
the UK and Europe. Gareth has been awarded multiple scholarships and accolades, including places in international masterclasses in Wales and with the Royal Academy of Music in Italy at the Tosti Institute.
Gareth has worked in masterclasses and privately with acclaimed artists such as Malcolm Martineau, Simon Over, Diane Forlano, Barbara Pearson, and Penny Mackay. He also regularly performs with coloratura soprano Lisa Cassidy (www.lisacassidy.org).
What sets Gareth apart is his unique combination of skills: an in-depth knowledge of vocal technique, the ability to coach in multiple languages, and high-level piano accompaniment. His holistic approach to teaching has helped students gain places at all major UK conservatoires, and many return for ongoing coaching. Numerous former students have gone on to successful careers in the arts or continue to enjoy music as part of their professional or personal lives.
Gareth has also supported university students in achieving strong results in music performance modules at the postgraduate level, and has guided many through ABRSM and Trinity/Guildhall exams, including performance diplomas.
